Zimbabwe Announce 15-Member Squad for T20I Series Against India

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20 International series against India, making three changes to the group that recently faced Bangladesh.

The series was played at the Harare Sports Club on July 23, 25 and 26, with Sikandar Raza continuing as captain. The selectors have recalled all-rounder Wessly Madhevere and fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri, while wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga has earned his first-ever T20I call-up.

Nyamhuri returns after recovering from a minor injury that forced him to miss the Bangladesh T20I series. Meanwhile, Tanaka Chivanga, who was drafted in as his replacement, has retained his place in the squad. The trio replaced Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa and Tashinga Musekiwa.

Zimbabwe head into the series with confidence following a productive home season against Bangladesh. The hosts registered a historic innings victory in the one-off Test and went on to clinch the ODI series 2-1 in Harare. Bangladesh, however, bounced back to win the T20I series 2-1 in Bulawayo.

India, the reigning ICC Men's T20 World Cup champions, arrive in Zimbabwe looking to reverse a poor run in the shortest format. The Men in Blue have not won any of their last seven T20Is, losing both matches against Ireland before suffering a 4-0 series defeat to England.

Led by Shreyas Iyer, India will begin their campaign on July 23, hoping to return to winning ways. The visitors' squad features several exciting names, including Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Ishan Kishan, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Mayank Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi.
