YSRCP’s Anjad Basha Challenges MLA Madhavi Reddy on Kadapa Development

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) expanded its support base in Kadapa with around 120 families joining its ranks, including TDP leaders Chand Basha, Waheed and Anwar. Former Deputy Chief Minister and party constituency coordinator S.B. Anjad Basha welcomed them during a programme held opposite the Two Town Police Station.

Addressing the gathering, Anjad Basha said the YSRCP would continue to stand with the people irrespective of whether it was in power or in opposition. He said the latest influx of members reflected the party’s growing strength and assured the new entrants that the organisation would provide them appropriate opportunities in the future.

He called on party workers to work for the victory of YSRCP candidates in the upcoming local body elections. Anjad Basha also urged people to compare the five-year tenure of the previous YSRCP government with the performance of the present TDP government, particularly on welfare, employment and development.

Anjad Basha challenged Kadapa MLA Madhavi Reddy to disclose how much funding had been secured for the city’s development since the TDP government came to power. He alleged that the ruling government and local representatives were taking credit for projects that had been sanctioned and initiated during the previous YSRCP regime.

He said the previous government had sanctioned funds for a permanent drinking water supply system in Kadapa and initiated related works. He urged the authorities to complete the pending works and ensure that residents receive the intended benefits from the water infrastructure constructed at a cost of hundreds of crores of rupees.

With the TDP government having completed more than two years in office, Anjad Basha demanded that the Kadapa MLA provide details of the new funds secured and development works undertaken in the city during this period.

He also sought explanations from the government and local representatives over allegations concerning sand, soil and real estate activities.

Anjad Basha said YSRCP leaders and workers would not be intimidated by political pressure or cases. He called for transparent and impartial elections, stressing that officials should not face political interference.

He urged party workers to reach out to voters and highlight the previous government’s welfare and development initiatives. Calling for coordinated efforts among the cadre, he said the responsibility rested with everyone to ensure the party’s ‘fan’ symbol regained momentum in the local body elections.

Former mayor Paka Suresh, senior leaders Subhan Basha and former deputy mayor Nityananda Reddy, youth wing state general secretary Sheikh Umair and former corporators attended the programme.
