YSRCP Protests Alleged DSC Irregularities with Massive Penukonda Rally

Stepping up its campaign against the Andhra Pradesh government's Mega DSC recruitment drive, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Monday organized a massive bike rally and town hall meeting at Parigi in the Penukonda Assembly constituency, alleging irregularities in the teacher recruitment process. The protest, led by YSRCP district president Ushasri Charan, witnessed the participation of party leaders, cadre and a large number of unemployed youth.

The demonstration focused on allegations that the District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment process lacked transparency, with participants urging the government to honour the commitments made to unemployed youth during the Assembly election campaign. Protesters claimed that deserving candidates were being left uncertain about their future and demanded greater accountability in the recruitment process.

Addressing the gathering, Ushasri Charan alleged that thousands of teaching aspirants who had spent years preparing for government jobs were now facing anxiety over the recruitment exercise. She claimed that the government had failed to address the concerns and objections raised by candidates and accused it of not ensuring a fair and transparent selection process.

Calling for an independent and impartial inquiry, she urged the government to investigate the alleged irregularities and safeguard the interests of eligible candidates. She also alleged that the coalition government had failed to fulfil several assurances made to students and unemployed youth before the elections.

The YSRCP leader further criticized the government's handling of student welfare programmes, alleging delays in implementing the fee reimbursement scheme and the absence of clarity on the promised unemployment allowance. She claimed that several initiatives aimed at supporting students had slowed down, while employment opportunities for young people remained inadequate.

Accusing the government of ignoring the concerns of students and job aspirants, Ushasri Charan demanded the resignation of Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh, holding him politically and administratively responsible for the alleged shortcomings in the DSC recruitment process.

She asserted that the YSR Congress Party would continue its agitation until a comprehensive probe into the alleged irregularities is conducted and every deserving candidate receives justice.

The Mega DSC recruitment has emerged as one of the key political issues in Andhra Pradesh, with the government projecting the recruitment drive as a major initiative to strengthen the state's education system, while the opposition continues to question the transparency and fairness of the selection process.
