YSR Congress Party MPs have urged the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to intervene urgently in two separate cases from Vijayawada involving the suspicious death of Gade Sai kiran and the alleged suicide of P. Kranti kumar, calling for an independent and time-bound probe into serious human rights violation allegations.

YSRCP MPs Maddila Gurumoorthy and Gumma Tanujarani submitted a detailed representation to NHRC Chairperson Justice Ram Subrahmanyam, seeking immediate attention to what they described as disturbing claims of custodial abuse and police misconduct.

In the case of Saikiran, the MPs alleged that there are credible accusations of custodial violence, abuse of power, and procedural lapses following his detention. The family has reportedly raised concerns that they were not informed about his whereabouts in a timely manner and that injuries and circumstances surrounding his death remain unexplained. They urged the commission to ensure a neutral, independent and time-bound investigation into the incident.

On the death of Krantikumar, the MPs pointed to allegations that sustained police harassment and mental pressure may have contributed to his suicide. They referred to a video said to have been recorded before his death, in which he allegedly accused Krishna Lanka Circle Inspector Nagaraju of repeated harassment and mental torture.

They also urged the NHRC to secure and examine all digital evidence , including mobile phone data and the viral video, and subject them to forensic analysis without delay. Noting that allegations in both cases point towards the same police officer, the MPs said the pattern raises serious concerns that warrant deeper scrutiny.

The representative further requested that the NHRC consider recommending a Special Investigation Team (SIT) if required, to ensure an impartial and comprehensive inquiry into both incidents.
