YSR Congress Party leader and former MLA Hafeez Khan has accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of spreading false information about Muslim welfare during a government-hosted Iftar on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media, Hafeez Khan said making misleading claims during the holy month of Ramadan , when Muslims focus on spirituality , is deeply concerning. He dismissed the CM’s claims of allocating Rs. 100 crore to the Dairy Corporation and increasing honorariums for Imams and Mouzzams to Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 10,000, calling them entirely false.

He criticized the government for failing to implement promised welfare measures, including monthly pensions for Muslim women and allocations for Eidgahs and graveyards, and alleged neglect toward minority welfare. Hafeez Khan also condemned the handling of Wakf properties, claiming they were appropriated under the pretext of development and given to party workers, undermining Muslim institutions’ rights.

Highlighting the contrast with the previous administration, he noted that under former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Muslim community received better financial support and representation, with benefits exceeding Rs. 24,000 crore through Direct Benefit Transfers and other schemes.

Hafeez Khan concluded that his party will continue its legal fight to protect Muslim rights, including taking the matter to the Supreme Court until justice is achieved.
