The YSR Congress Party ( YSRCP ) has stepped up its offensive against the Andhra Pradesh coalition government led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu , accusing it of failing to deliver on major election promises and ignoring public welfare. Party president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy announced a statewide protest campaign titled “Two Years of Chandrababu’s Betrayal,” targeting what the opposition describes as serious administrative failures.

The announcement was made during an emergency meeting at the party headquarters in Tadepalli, attended by senior leaders, MPs, MLAs, district presidents, and constituency coordinators. During the meeting, Jagan unveiled a booklet highlighting the coalition government’s alleged failures, including unfulfilled assurances and anti-public policies. He instructed party workers to take the campaign to every village and urban neighborhood to create wider public awareness.

As part of the agitation, statewide demonstrations will be organized in mandal headquarters from June 4 to June 12. The party plans to publicly showcase copies of the ruling alliance’s election promises and hold symbolic protests against what it calls broken commitments. YSRCP leaders are also mobilizing cadres and supporters for large-scale participation across the state.

The party will additionally conduct town hall meetings in Assembly constituencies around June 8 and 9, where farmers , women, youth, and representatives from different social groups are expected to speak about the difficulties they have faced under the current administration. The campaign will culminate in massive rallies on June 12 across constituency headquarters.

Jagan stated that the movement is aimed at exposing the widening gap between the coalition’s promises and the ground reality faced by ordinary citizens. He added that he would personally monitor the nine-day campaign.

The former Chief Minister also indicated that the upcoming local body elections would be a major political battle for the party. Alleging misuse of official machinery during recent by-elections, he called upon party leaders and grassroots workers to remain united and ensure strong contests in every local body seat. Stressing the need to protect democracy , Jagan urged the cadre not to allow uncontested victories under pressure or intimidation from the ruling alliance.
