YSRCP differently-abled wing holds state meeting in Tadepalli

The YSR Congress Party’s Differently-Abled Wing convened its State Committee and district presidents’ meeting at the YSRCP Central Office in Tadepalli on Friday. The meeting was chaired by Party State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, and attended by along with other leaders.

During the meeting, discussions focused on issues faced by the differently-abled community in Andhra Pradesh and the implementation of welfare schemes meant for them. Party leaders reviewed the current situation surrounding the re-verification of social security pensions and its impact on differently-abled beneficiaries.

Addressing the gathering, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said the YSRCP leadership has consistently prioritized the welfare of marginalized and differently-abled citizens. He recalled that during former Chief Minister Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, measures were taken to simplify regulations, ensure timely distribution of welfare benefits, and strengthen delivery systems through monthly disbursements.

He said the differently-abled should not face hardship due to administrative or procedural issues and urged party cadres to continue advocating for their welfare.

Former Minister Merugu Nagarjuna expressed concern over the ongoing pension re-verification process, stating that it has caused difficulties for several differently-abled individuals who are required to undergo repeated verification at local offices and hospitals. He called for a more streamlined and humane approach in implementing welfare schemes.

Differently-abled Wing State President Pulipati Durgareddy said the government must ensure that no eligible person loses their social security pension due to technical or verification issues. He emphasized the need to protect the dignity and self-respect of differently-abled persons while implementing welfare policies.

The meeting concluded with a resolution to strengthen coordination among the wing’s district units and to continue raising issues related to the welfare and social security of differently-abled citizens in Andhra Pradesh.
