YSRCP Demands Nara Lokesh’s Resignation Over Mega DSC Sports Quota

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) staged a protest in Vijayawada on Monday, alleging irregularities in the sports quota recruitment under Mega DSC-2025 and demanding a comprehensive CBI investigation into the selection process. The party also sought the resignation of School Education Minister Nara Lokesh, alleging that deserving candidates had been denied justice.

A large number of YSRCP leaders and workers gathered near the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) office in Vijayawada to protest against what they described as discrepancies in the recruitment process. Police erected barricades to prevent the protesters from advancing towards the office, leading to tension in the area.

According to ANI, the situation became tense in Labbipet, following which police resorted to a lathi-charge to disperse the protesters. Several YSRCP leaders and workers were reportedly taken into custody during the protest.

YSRCP PAC member and former Vinukonda MLA Bolla Brahma Naidu participated in the demonstration and demanded a detailed CBI probe into the Mega DSC recruitment. He said an independent investigation was necessary to establish the facts and ensure that eligible candidates receive justice.

YSRCP Allegations Against TDP

The YSRCP also levelled allegations against members of the ruling TDP, claiming that some individuals entered the SAAP premises posing as teachers and attacked party workers and student wing leaders with sticks. The party alleged that several people sustained injuries during the confrontation.

The opposition party further accused the police of failing to prevent the alleged attacks and instead using force against its workers. It also claimed that police stopped several of its leaders travelling to Vijayawada from different districts to participate in the demonstration.

According to the YSRCP, former minister Ambati Rambabu, Vanama Bala Vajrababu, Ambati Murali Krishna and Noori Fathima were stopped at the Kaza toll plaza and subsequently taken to Pedakakani Police Station. The party also claimed that Jakkampudi Raja, Perni Krishnamurthy and Nagarkun Yadav were taken into custody at Krishnalanka Police Station.

The YSRCP reiterated its demand for a CBI probe into the sports quota selections, stating that the investigation should establish the facts behind the alleged irregularities and ensure justice for qualified candidates.
