YSRCP Demands Nara Lokesh's Resignation Over Alleged Mega DSC Recruitment Irregularities

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has intensified its attack on the Andhra Pradesh government, alleging large-scale irregularities in the Mega DSC teacher recruitment process and demanding the immediate resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh.

A delegation of YSRCP leaders submitted a memorandum to the NTR district Collector's office in Vijayawada on Friday, accusing the government of failing to ensure a transparent recruitment process and seeking an impartial investigation into the allegations.

Speaking to the media, YSRCP MLC Ruhulla alleged that the Mega DSC recruitment drive had turned into a major scam, claiming that teaching posts were illegally sold through backdoor channels. He said the seriousness of the allegations warranted Nara Lokesh's resignation on moral grounds.

YSRCP NTR district president Devineni Avinash described the recruitment exercise as " Daga DSC " (fraudulent DSC) rather than "Mega DSC." He accused the government of responding to criticism with personal attacks instead of addressing the allegations surrounding the recruitment process. According to him, unemployed youth across the state are demanding accountability from the Education Minister.

Former minister Vellampalli Srinivas also alleged irregularities in appointments made under the sports quota. He claimed that candidates who had won gold medals were overlooked, while jobs were allegedly awarded to individuals who had merely participated in competitions. He questioned why the government was reluctant to order a CBI investigation if the recruitment process had been conducted fairly. Srinivas also accused the government of failing to fulfil promises related to fee reimbursement and unemployment allowance.

The opposition party announced a series of protests to escalate the issue. Town hall meetings will be held on August 3 and 4, followed by relay hunger strikes from August 6 to 9. The party also plans to organise statewide rallies in every Assembly constituency on August 10.

Meanwhile, YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy reiterated the party's allegations, claiming that the government was attempting to divert public attention instead of responding to accusations of question paper leaks and recruitment irregularities in the Mega DSC process. He too called for Nara Lokesh to step down, saying the minister should accept moral responsibility over the controversy.
