YSRCP Demands Lokesh's Resignation Over Alleged DSC Irregularities

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has demanded the immediate resignation of Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh, alleging serious irregularities in the conduct of the state's District Selection Committee (DSC) teacher recruitment examination. The party said the minister should accept moral responsibility for the alleged lapses and step down from office.

Addressing a press conference in Guntur, former YSRCP MP Talari Rangaiah alleged that the recruitment process was marred by multiple irregularities, including concerns over the preparation of question papers, allegations of paper leaks, and issues surrounding the overall recruitment process. He claimed that these developments had raised serious questions about the credibility and transparency of the examination.

Rangaiah argued that the coalition government had failed to conduct even a single major recruitment examination in a transparent manner, describing it as a reflection of administrative inefficiency. He also expressed concern that any compromise in the integrity of teacher recruitment would have long-term consequences for students and the education system.

Drawing a comparison with the controversy surrounding the NEET examination, Rangaiah said that accountability should be upheld whenever irregularities emerge in public examinations. He asserted that the Education Minister should resign on ethical grounds in view of the allegations related to the DSC recruitment process.

The YSRCP leader also defended the recruitment practices followed during the tenure of former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said the recruitment of village and ward secretariat employees as well as volunteers was carried out transparently and without major complaints during the previous administration.

Criticising the present government, Rangaiah alleged that it had failed to ensure a fair and smooth conduct of the DSC examination. He warned that if the minister did not resign, the YSRCP would launch statewide protests along with affected candidates and unemployed youth, demanding accountability and a transparent recruitment process.

The allegations made by the opposition come amid continuing political exchanges over the conduct of recruitment examinations in Andhra Pradesh. The state government has not yet issued a response to the latest allegations made by the YSRCP.
