Former Andhra Pradesh minister Ambati Rambabu has strongly criticized the ruling coalition, alleging that it is resorting to political vendetta and misusing the police force against opposition leaders, particularly from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) . He said democratic values in the state are “collapsing” under the present regime.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Rambabu alleged that false cases are being filed to harass opposition leaders. He claimed that 32 cases have already been registered against him over remarks made against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in January, with additional cases now filed in Pulivendula and Vempalle . He termed this a clear act of political retaliation.

He also referred to the arrest of YSRCP media in-charge Pudi Srihari , alleging that he was targeted over social media posts. Despite securing bail from the court, Srihari was re-arrested and shifted to Guntur in violation of due process, which Rambabu described as misuse of authority.

Rambabu further alleged that law and order in the state has deteriorated, stating that police are being used against political opponents instead of focusing on crime control. Citing the recent murder of a journalist, he said it reflects a serious breakdown of governance and public safety.

He also accused some IPS officers of acting under political influence rather than maintaining neutrality, warning that governments are temporary while public mandate is decisive. He expressed confidence that YSRCP would return to power in the future.

On governance, Rambabu alleged negligence in addressing public issues and blamed policy decisions for shortages of petrol and diesel , stating that changes in procurement methods have led to hardship for citizens. He also criticized the government for shifting priorities after elections and urged it to focus on overall state development instead of partisan interests.
