YSRCP Alleges Prime Vizag Lands Being Allotted to Corporates at Low Prices

Former minister and senior YSRCP leader Gudivada Amarnath has strongly criticized the NDA government, alleging that the state is suffering huge losses due to the allocation of prime lands in Visakhapatnam to corporate entities at rock-bottom rates.

Speaking at a press conference, Amarnath pointed out that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu appears to be following policies previously proposed by the YSRCP, particularly in the development of Visakhapatnam. He expressed surprise that those who had opposed YSRCP’s efforts to develop Visakhapatnam as an executive capital are now praising the very same city.

Amarnath referred to the foundation stone-laying ceremony conducted by Chandrababu Naidu in Visakhapatnam on Friday, which included Cognizant’s IT campus and seven other companies with a total investment of ₹3,700 crore . He alleged that there are several suspicious elements in land allocations behind these projects and accused the government of burdening the state with debts under the guise of attracting investments since coming to power.

Recalling past government IT policies, Amarnath highlighted that Infosys’ operations in Visakhapatnam were facilitated by YSRCP initiatives , and TCS had also started its activities in the city due to the interest shown by the previous YSRCP government.Amarnath questioned why corporate groups are getting prime lands at extremely low prices in Andhra Pradesh while companies like Lulu Group spend heavily to acquire land in Gujarat. He said that this practice raises doubts among the public. The YSRCP leader demanded that the NDA government disclose the number of jobs created since assuming power. He also asked for clarity on public funds spent to promote IT Minister Nara Lokesh .

Amarnath further alleged that within the NDA, smaller coalition partners are sidelined , with all credit for successes being claimed by Chandrababu Naidu.

So far, the TDP has not issued any official response to these allegations.
