YSR Family Encouraged Politics of Violence in AP: Payyavula Keshav

Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav launched a sharp attack on the YSR family, accusing it of promoting factional politics , violence , and criminalisation in the state for decades. Addressing a press conference in Vijayawada, he strongly criticised former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy over his recent remarks and alleged that the roots of Andhra Pradesh’s political unrest could be traced back to the YSR family’s style of governance.

Keshav claimed that intimidation , fear , and violent rivalries had become common in regions like Pulivendula due to the encouragement of faction-based politics. He referred to past incidents involving attacks on political opponents and said the public still remembered several violent incidents linked to political disputes.

The minister also referred to the murder case of former minister Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy and alleged that people were well aware of the controversies surrounding the case. He accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of attempting to gain sympathy through the issue while continuing to encourage what he described as anarchic politics in the state.

Keshav’s remarks have further intensified the ongoing political confrontation between the ruling coalition and the YSR Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh.
