YS Jagan begins three-day visit to his home district

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has begun a three-day tour of his home constituency, Pulivendula. He reached the town at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday and held a public darbar at his Bhakarapuram camp office, interacting closely with party workers, locals, leaders and supporters.

Jagan spent time listening to people’s grievances, assuring them that he would stand by them and help address their problems. Issues that could be resolved immediately were taken up on the spot, and he directed Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy to follow up on several petitions.

He reassured the public that the YSR Congress Party would continue to support all sections of society and hold the current government accountable on their behalf.

A large number of farmers poured out their concerns, stating that back-to-back cyclones and heavy rains had left them in deep trouble, yet the Chandrababu-led government had not provided even basic relief. They said that during the previous YSRCP regime, they felt secure, but today farming itself has become a fear-filled activity. Jagan promised to fight for their welfare and stand firmly with them.

He stayed overnight in the constituency.

On Wednesday morning, Jagan will attend a wedding at the Vasavi Function Hall in Pulivendula at 9 a.m. Later, he will visit Brahmanapalli to inspect banana plantations and interact with banana farmers facing severe losses. The price of bananas has crashed from ₹25,000 per tonne to barely ₹2,000, leaving growers in distress.

He will then return to Pulivendula to visit the family of former Lingala sarpanch Mahesh Reddy and later call on Lingala Ramalinga Reddy at Velpula. In the evening, he will be back at the camp office to hold another public darbar until 7 p.m., followed by an overnight stay.
