YS Jagan Assures Legal Support to Lankapalli Farmers Over 600-Acre Land Dispute
Farmers from Lankapalli village in Pamidimukkala mandal of Krishna district met YSRCP president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and explained their problems, particularly a dispute involving nearly 600 acres of Lanka lands. The farmers submitted a representation at the YSRCP central office, seeking his support and intervention in protecting their claims over the disputed land.
According to a statement released by the party, the farmers told Jagan that their families had been cultivating the Lanka lands since 1952. They said several generations had depended on these lands for their livelihood and alleged that their longstanding claims were now being overlooked.
The farmers alleged that patta passbooks had been issued in the names of local TDP leaders and their alleged benamis, despite their families having cultivated the lands for decades. They claimed that the process had affected their interests and raised concerns over how ownership and cultivation rights were being recognised.
The farmers also alleged that Pamidimukkala tahsildar K. Naveen Kumar had played a key role in the process of issuing the documents. They sought a detailed investigation into the entire land dispute and requested that the authorities examine the records and circumstances surrounding the issuance of the patta passbooks.
The delegation appealed to Jagan to extend political and legal support until the matter was resolved. They urged the YSRCP leadership to stand by them in their efforts to protect what they described as their longstanding rights over the lands.
After hearing from the farmers, Jagan Mohan Reddy assured them that the party would provide the necessary legal assistance to safeguard their rights. He said the YSRCP would extend all possible support from its side in pursuing a resolution to the dispute.
The farmers met Jagan under the leadership of former Pamarru MLA Kaile Anil. Yelamanchili Ganesh, Mullapudi Somayya, Kanumuri Venkateswara Rao, Chopparapu Nageswara Rao and Kodali Rambabu were among those who accompanied the delegation.
The farmers have sought a comprehensive inquiry into the disputed lands and continued legal support until their concerns are addressed.
