Yezdi Roadster wins car&bike 'Bike Design of the Year' for its Defiant Design
The Yezdi Roadster has been awarded the “Bike Design of the Year” honour by car&bike , recognising the motorcycle’s bold styling and innovative design approach. The award adds another major accolade for the roadster, which has already gained attention in India’s mid-capacity motorcycle segment for combining retro character with modern engineering.
Developed by Classic Legends , the motorcycle is designed to reinterpret the classic roadster formula with a muscular and planted stance. Its long, low silhouette blends cruiser-inspired styling with roadster ergonomics, making it suitable for both city riding and long-distance touring. A sculpted 12.5-litre fuel tank pays tribute to the heritage of the iconic Yezdi , while the wide rear tyre and chopped rear fender enhance the bike’s aggressive road presence.
One of the Roadster’s most distinctive innovations is its modular seat design , which allows riders to switch between a bobber-style single seat and a dual-seat configuration within minutes. Even after removing the pillion seat, the rear section retains a clean and finished look, avoiding exposed hardware something rarely seen in modular cruiser designs.
The motorcycle is powered by a 334cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing around 28–29 bhp and nearly 30 Nm torque , paired with a six-speed gearbox and assist-and-slipper clutch for smoother performance and easier gear shifts.
Available in multiple colour schemes, including the stealth-inspired Shadow Black edition , the Roadster starts at about ₹1.96 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. With its combination of striking design, rider-focused ergonomics, and heritage styling, the Yezdi Roadster continues to strengthen the brand’s presence in the modern classic motorcycle segment.
