WPL: Gujarat Giants edge Mumbai Indians by 11 runs

Gujarat Giants kept their Women’s Premier League 2026 campaign firmly on track with a hard fought 11 run win over Mumbai Indians in a crucial league match at Vadodara on Friday night, tightening their grip on an Eliminator spot .

Batting first after winning the toss, the Giants posted a competitive 167 for 4 in their 20 overs on a flat surface that rewarded clean hitting. Openers Beth Mooney and Sophie Devine provided a steady start before captain Ashleigh Gardner took charge in the middle overs. Gardner’s authoritative stroke play, combined with support from Georgia Wareham , ensured Gujarat maintained momentum despite losing wickets at regular intervals.
