Won’t Spare Even One…: Russia To Enter New Conflict After Ukraine, Iran? NATO State Germany Warned
Former Russian President and current Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has issued a stark warning to Europe, saying continued militarisation could push the continent toward “mutual destruction,” amid already strained NATO–Russia relations.
In remarks published in Russian state-linked media, Medvedev warned that Europe’s current security path risks dangerous escalation, particularly as NATO strengthens its eastern flank in response to the ongoing Russia–Ukraine war. In a related development today, fighting and drone strikes in the Russia–Ukraine conflict reportedly intensified along multiple frontlines, further raising regional tensions.
Medvedev specifically criticised Germany’s reported troop deployments near Belarus, calling it a historic provocation. He stated, “The deployment of foreign troops near Belarus is a direct and dangerous provocation that undermines security in Eastern Europe.”
He also warned that Germany’s broader military posture and NATO integration could trigger catastrophic consequences, saying, “The German government’s course leads to mutual destruction if escalation continues unchecked.”
Western governments maintain that NATO deployments are defensive and aimed at deterring threats linked to the Ukraine conflict, while Russia argues that NATO expansion near its borders is destabilising Europe’s security balance.
Analysts say the situation reflects deepening mistrust and a hardened strategic standoff, where even small incidents such as airspace violations or border provocations could risk broader escalation.
For now, there is no direct NATO–Russia conflict, but tensions remain at their highest level in years.
Russia has also reportedly warned foreign diplomats to leave Kyiv, signalling possible escalation fears as Moscow may be preparing for intensified or mass strike operations amid the ongoing Russia–Ukraine conflict.
