Ensuring the safety of women and children remains the foremost priority for the police, Anakapalli Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha said, stressing that there will be no compromise on their protection. On Saturday, he issued a set of key safety guidelines to help women stay alert and respond effectively in emergency situations.

He urged women to install the Shakti App on their mobile phones, noting that the SOS feature can instantly alert the police control room with the user’s location, enabling a rapid response from nearby patrol teams.

Women were advised to remain cautious while travelling at night and avoid accepting rides from strangers. Sharing vehicle details with trusted contacts when using autos or cabs was recommended as a safety measure. He also warned against disclosing personal information to unknown individuals, both online and offline, and advised calling 100 or 112 in case of any suspicious situations.

To strengthen security, special Shakti Teams are maintaining vigilance in crowded areas such as colleges and bus stations. Victims of harassment were encouraged to approach the police without hesitation, with assurance that their identities will be kept confidential.

Highlighting the importance of awareness, he stressed that parents must educate children about appropriate and inappropriate touch. He warned that any offence against minors will invite strict action under the POCSO Act .

Reassuring the public, the SP said women should not feel alone, as the police department remains committed to their safety at all times.
