Woman Stabbed to Death by Lover After Marriage Dispute in Hyderabad
A 23-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her lover following a heated argument over marriage in Balapur on Sunday night. Police said the accused later attempted to conceal and move her body after the killing.
The victim, a native of Bihar, worked as a waiter at function halls in Hyderabad. According to police, she had been in a relationship with the accused, a daily-wage labourer, for nearly a year. She had reportedly been staying at his residence for the past two months.
Police said the woman had been urging the accused to marry her, but he allegedly refused. The disagreement escalated into an argument on Sunday night, during which the accused allegedly attacked her with a knife. She suffered fatal injuries and died, according to preliminary findings.
Following the alleged murder, the accused reportedly tied the woman’s hands and legs and placed her body inside a gunny bag. He then allegedly tried to remove the body from the room to conceal the crime.
The incident came to light after local residents noticed something suspicious and alerted the police. Officers who reached the scene found the woman's body inside a blood-stained gunny bag in the room.
Police identified the victim and informed her family members in Bihar. There were also reports that the woman was pregnant, but police said her medical status would be established only after the post-mortem examination.
The accused has reportedly fled the area. Police have formed special teams to trace and arrest him. Investigators are also examining whether his mother played any role in helping conceal the body or in the aftermath of the alleged crime.
A murder case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events and determine the involvement of others, if any.
