Wings India 2026 Takes Flight: A Mega Aviation Extravaganza at Begumpet

Begumpet Airport hosted the inauguration of Wings India 2026 , highlighting India’s aviation capabilities to a global audience. The four-day event, organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and FICCI , began on Wednesday in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister G. Rammohan Naidu and will continue until January 31 .

The exhibition features advanced aircraft and helicopters from Air India, HAL, IndiGo , and other airlines. Key discussions focus on aircraft manufacturing, maintenance, sustainable fuels, and drone technology , while industry leaders and policymakers will explore future challenges and opportunities.

The event includes Global CEOs Forum, Ministerial Plenary sessions, B2B and B2G meetings, an Aviation Job Fair, and student innovation competitions . Initiatives like Aviation Jam and the Civil Aviation Innovation Challenge aim to attract young talent. Over 150 exhibitors and around 7,500 business visitors are expected, along with more than 100,000 general attendees.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi , speaking virtually, stressed India’s vision to become a global aviation hub . The ministry estimates the sector could attract $120 billion in investments over the next decade, particularly in airport infrastructure, aircraft procurement, and MRO sectors .

Static displays, including Air India’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and Russia’s IL-114-300 , along with cutting-edge avionics, maintenance, and design technology, have drawn significant attention. Aerobatic performances by the Surya Kiran team and international teams, alongside drone shows, thrilled visitors.

Air India CEO Campbell Wilson described the year as transformative, with new Dreamliners and A350-1000s joining the fleet, boosting global connectivity and passenger experience.

The exhibition underlines India’s growing role as a global aviation hub , sending a strong message: the sky is the limit for the country’s aviation sector.
