Will Smith Reportedly In Talks For Villain Role In Allu Arjun’s ‘Raaka’
Hollywood star Will Smith could be the latest international addition to ‘Raaka’, the much-anticipated sci-fi action film starring Allu Arjun and directed by Atlee. According to recent reports, the Oscar-winning actor has been in discussions with the makers to play the film’s primary antagonist opposite Allu Arjun.
Reports suggest that talks between Smith and the team began last year and continued for around a year. The actor is now reportedly being considered for an overseas shooting schedule, with his dates still being worked out. The location for his portions has not yet been finalised and is expected to depend on Smith’s availability. His costumes have reportedly already been finalized, adding to speculation that the discussions are at an advanced stage.
Smith’s portions are expected to be filmed after September, although the exact schedule remains subject to his availability. If the reports materialise, his appearance would mark a major Hollywood-Indian cinema crossover and could give the film an even stronger international profile.
‘Raaka’, earlier known by its working title AA22xA6, is being mounted on a large scale as a sci-fi action spectacle. Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone headline the project, while Rashmika Mandanna, Mrunal Thakur and Janhvi Kapoor are also reportedly part of the ensemble. The film is produced by Sun Pictures and is among Atlee’s most ambitious projects.
The film’s first look, unveiled on April 8, 2026, on Allu Arjun’s 44th birthday, revealed the actor in a striking, heavily transformed avatar, immediately generating curiosity about the film’s futuristic world. The project is expected to feature extensive visual effects and an international production scale.
Adding another layer to the casting buzz is Shah Rukh Khan, who has also been linked to the project. Recent reports claim the Bollywood superstar could make a cameo and join the film’s international schedule after completing his current commitments, including ‘King’. However, reports about Khan’s involvement have varied, and the makers have yet to make an official announcement.
There is also uncertainty over the reported budget and final production plans, with the film widely described as a ₹700-crore-scale project. Its production has already faced scheduling changes, including a reported delay following Rashmika Mandanna’s injury, which pushed a portion of the schedule towards September or October.
For now, Will Smith’s casting remains unconfirmed, and the details of his possible character have not been officially revealed. If he does come on board, however, a face-off between Smith and Allu Arjun would make ‘Raaka’ one of the most talked-about Indian film collaborations involving a major Hollywood star.
