Widespread Rain Spell Likely Across Telugu States from October 15
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to receive rainfall with the onset of the northeast monsoon, as a trough over the Bay of Bengal is expected to influence weather conditions across both states. The Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate showers in several areas, raising hopes among farmers concerned about drying crops amid a prolonged lack of rainfall.
In Telangana, rainfall is expected to begin on October 15 and gradually extend to more regions over the following days. According to the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, thunderstorms are likely in several districts on October 15 and 16, including Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Jogulamba Gadwal, Siddipet, Jangaon and Warangal. Yellow alerts have been issued for the districts concerned.
According to Telangana Weatherman (@balaji25_t), isolated showers are likely in southern and eastern Telangana on October 15 and 16, particularly in areas closer to Andhra Pradesh, while Hyderabad is expected to remain largely dry during the initial phase. Between October 20 and 23, rainfall could extend across most parts of the state, including Hyderabad city.
The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has also indicated the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall on October 18 in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanamkonda districts.
The northeast monsoon has also begun influencing the southern coastal belt of Andhra Pradesh. The update highlighted the possibility of good rainfall in Tirupati city, Nellore city and several parts of Tirupati district.
