BJP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of remaining silent over alleged examination paper leaks and cheating incidents in Punjab.

Speaking to reporters at the Parliament House complex, Maliwal claimed that six major paper leaks have occurred in Punjab over the past five years. She also alleged that cheating has been reported in several examinations, including what she described as "massive cheating" during a pharmacy examination held on July 19. The AAP, however, has denied allegations of paper leaks in the state.

Maliwal also targeted the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), alleging that it was formed by Kejriwal's associates and calling it the "B team" of the AAP. She further claimed that the AAP had carried out a paid social media campaign to promote the outfit.

According to Maliwal, neither Kejriwal nor the CJP has addressed questions surrounding accountability over the alleged examination irregularities in Punjab. She accused the AAP leadership of maintaining silence when faced with criticism over governance-related issues.

The BJP leader also criticised Kejriwal over the handling of student protests, alleging that while he calls for public demonstrations on various issues, students protesting peacefully against alleged paper leaks in Punjab were subjected to lathi-charge.

Maliwal described Kejriwal as the "super chief minister" of Punjab, alleging that he has significant influence over the state government despite not holding the chief minister's post.

She also criticised Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing him of making "irrelevant and incoherent statements" and demanding that the state's education minister resign immediately over the alleged examination irregularities.

Maliwal concluded her remarks by directly targeting Kejriwal, saying the AAP leader should be held accountable for the situation.
