Who Ruled India's Biggest Police Martial Arts Championship? The Medal Table Says It All

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) emerged as the overall champion of the All-India Police Judo Cluster Championship, finishing on top after an impressive medal-winning campaign at the week-long event that concluded in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Hosted by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli, the championship was held from July 23 to July 30 and brought together nearly 1,600 athletes and officials representing 36 Central and State police organisations from across the country.

The competition featured six combat disciplines, Judo, Karate, Wushu, Taekwondo (Men), Taekwondo (Women), and Pencak Silat, showcasing the physical fitness, discipline and competitive spirit of India's police and paramilitary forces.

SSB secured the overall championship by collecting 24 gold, 20 silver and 23 bronze medals, finishing with 203 points to top the standings.

Host CISF put up a spirited performance and finished a close second with 25 gold, 16 silver and 25 bronze medals, accumulating 198 points. Despite winning one more gold medal than SSB, CISF narrowly missed the overall title on points.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) claimed the third position after winning 10 gold, 21 silver and 26 bronze medals, finishing with 138 points.

The closing ceremony was attended by Telangana Director General of Police C V Anand as the chief guest. CISF Additional Director General Vijay Prakash, along with senior police and intelligence officials, was also present to felicitate the winners and mark the successful conclusion of the championship.

The annual championship serves as a major platform for police personnel to display excellence in martial arts while strengthening camaraderie, fitness and professional competitiveness among security forces from across the country.
