West Bengal’s Steel Sector Gets Major Push with Amit Metaliks’ ₹4,000 Crore Project

Amit Metaliks Ltd is set to begin work on its ambitious ₹4,000 crore integrated steel manufacturing project in West Bengal’s Purulia district, with the foundation stone ceremony scheduled for August 17. The company announced that the event will mark the formal launch of the proposed facility at Raghunathpur, a key industrial location in the state.

According to a company statement, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is expected to preside over the foundation stone laying ceremony. The project is aimed at significantly expanding Amit Metaliks’ manufacturing capabilities and strengthening its presence in the steel sector.

The proposed integrated steel plant will feature advanced steelmaking operations, supported by modern manufacturing technologies and sustainable infrastructure solutions. The company said the facility has been planned to enhance production capacity while incorporating efficient and environmentally conscious industrial practices.

Amit Metaliks stated that the project is expected to create substantial employment opportunities in the region, providing a boost to local economic activity and supporting industrial growth in Purulia.
