We will fight until democracy prevails: KTR

K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), BRS working president, made strong remarks saying Telangana is a place of sacrifice and struggle. He urged people to confront the Congress government’s authoritarian behavior with the same spirit that drove the armed Telangana struggle. He called for returning Telangana to the path of welfare under KCR’s leadership. On September 17, for National Unity Day, KTR hoisted the national flag at Telangana Bhavan. On this occasion he said some call that movement “liberation,” some call it “merger,” and others call it “rebellion,” but millions took part in the armed struggle and thousands sacrificed their lives. He paid tribute to those martyrs and said their sacrifices are an example for all of us.

We will fight under KCR’s leadership KTR said whether the first phase was the Telangana movement or later struggles under KCR’s leadership, even today the protests against this authoritarian Congress government have their roots in the armed Telangana struggle. He mentioned leaders like Shaik Bandagi, Doddi Komarayya, Arutla Kamalamma, Arutla Ramachandra Reddy, Ravi Narayan Reddy and others who wrote powerful verses and showed great courage. Inspired by those leaders, he said they will continue democratic struggles so that welfare rule, farmer-friendly policies, and a democratic environment without authoritarian control return to Telangana - all under KCR’s leadership.

We will bring the state back to welfare KTR criticized the Congress government’s authoritarian methods and said students and youth are protesting against them. He accused the government of failing to fill Group-1 posts and of treating students harshly, even arresting them when they hold peaceful round-table discussions. He said a corrupt government that talks about the Olympics while farmers suffer will continue in our state unless people resist. He urged people to confront such authoritarian practices with the spirit of the armed Telangana struggle and called to bring back a welfare path under KCR.

Another fight is needed KTR said while some may name the past events “liberation,” “merger,” or “rebellion,” the day is being observed as National Unity Day because it marks the move from a feudal system to a democratic one. He noted that in the past they raised the flag and that they raised it again today. He said, in honor of the sacrifices of those freedom fighters, the people of Telangana must be ready to fight once more.
