Water for Every Home This Summer: Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy Sets Clear Goal

As the summer is approaching, authorities have been directed to take proactive steps to prevent drinking water shortages and ensure safe supply to every household across the constituency. Emphasising that water is a basic necessity , Vemireddy Prashanth Reddy called on officials to prioritise uninterrupted access to clean drinking water.

The directions were issued during a review meeting held at the camp office in Magunta Layout, attended by tahsildars, MPDOs, and panchayat secretaries. Special officers currently overseeing gram panchayats also participated, following the completion of sarpanches’ tenure. Local issues and ground-level challenges were discussed in detail.

Officials were instructed to accord top priority to water supply in both rural and urban areas, especially in view of rising summer temperatures. Immediate corrective measures such as repairing pipeline leakages , restoring non-functional borewells , and arranging tankers wherever required were emphasised to avoid disruptions.

Special focus was also laid on sanitation , with clear instructions to maintain cleanliness of overhead tanks and ensure water quality standards are strictly followed. Authorities were warned against any compromise in the safety of drinking water.

To support uninterrupted supply, officials were asked to coordinate closely with power departments to avoid outages. They were also directed to utilise available funds specifically for drinking water needs, intensify field-level monitoring, and take firm action to prevent negligence and public inconvenience.
