Warangal–Karimnagar Corridor to Become Model Urban Region: CM Revanth Reddy

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy unveiled an ambitious development roadmap during his visit to Choppadandi constituency in Karimnagar district, where he took part in the Praja Palana – Pragati Baata programme and addressed a large public meeting at Gumlapur village. The Chief Minister announced a comprehensive urban growth strategy for Warangal and Karimnagar, stating that Outer Ring Roads in both cities would be completed and expanded, with stronger road connectivity linking them. He also proposed setting up a large integrated dump yard between the two cities along with a power generation plant to convert waste into electricity. Warangal’s airport works would be completed and connected through ORR links, enabling the two cities to develop as twin urban centers and model municipal corporations .

During the programme, the Chief Minister laid foundation stones for an Advanced Technology Center (ATC) in Choppadandi costing ₹45.15 crore to provide modern technical training and skill development, and for a Government Degree College building in Gangadhara mandal costing ₹5 crore . These projects aim to expand higher education access and industry-oriented skills for rural youth. Referring to Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 , he said temple towns along the Godavari, from Basar to Bhadrachalam, would be upgraded through comprehensive development plans, strengthening them as major pilgrimage and tourism centers while promoting eco-tourism in forest regions along the river corridor.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, the Chief Minister said the government is addressing the needs of farmers , students , youth , and women . In agriculture, he cited loan waivers , remunerative prices, bonuses for fine rice varieties, farmer insurance, and Rythu Bharosa support, stating that ₹1.15 lakh crore has been spent on the sector. In employment and education, around 70,000 jobs have been filled in two years, while Young India Integrated Residential Schools are being constructed and BC and SC hostels upgraded. On women’s empowerment, he pointed to free RTC bus travel , interest-free loans to women’s self-help groups, and allocation of buses, petrol bunks, and solar power projects to women’s groups.

At the event, the Chief Minister handed over a ₹110.10 crore cheque to the Karimnagar district women’s federation to strengthen women’s self-help group networks and livelihood activities. Concluding his speech, he said the government is ready to present its two-year performance in the Assembly and expressed confidence that Telangana has the capacity to become the number one state in India through self-driven development.
