Tollywood’s Baahubali , the youth’s Darling , and pan-India superstar Prabhas film is nothing less than a festival for audiences. His movies always create massive celebrations in theaters. At present, all of Prabhas’ projects are mounted on the biggest pan-India scale. Among his recent blockbusters, Kalki 2898 AD stands tall as the biggest hit.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film blended mythology with futuristic visuals, weaving together characters like Ashwatthama, Karna, and the Kali Yuga into a cinematic spectacle. Kalki 2898 AD also marked Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone’s entry into Tollywood. While her role wasn’t overly lengthy, her performance left a strong impact. With Part 1 creating such magic, fans began building massive expectations for Part 2. Initially, the makers confirmed she would return for the sequel.

However, rumors soon began swirling that Deepika might not feature in the sequel. Many dismissed them as speculation until production house Vyjayanthi Movies officially shocked fans by confirming the news. They announced that Deepika Padukone would not be a part of Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 , explaining that the scale and commitment required for the sequel led to a different creative direction.

Though the announcement surprised cinephiles, it has also sparked speculation that new twists and unexpected turns could shape the story. Meanwhile, pre-production work for the sequel is almost complete, and the team is preparing to begin shooting once Prabhas’ schedule is locked. Sources suggest that Part 2 will feature grander action sequences, cutting-edge VFX, and never-seen-before mythological elements raising anticipation to a whole new level.
