VP C.P. Radhakrishnan Offers Prayers at Tirumala, Calls Visit Spiritually Fulfilling

Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Tuesday undertook a spiritual visit to the sacred hill shrine of Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, seeking divine blessings for the nation’s prosperity and well-being .

Arriving at the temple’s Mahadwaram in the early hours, the Vice President was accorded a traditional welcome by officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and temple priests. The ceremonial reception, marked by Vedic chants , reflected the temple’s long-standing customs in honouring visiting dignitaries.

With folded hands and visible devotion, Radhakrishnan first offered prayers at the Dwajasthambam before proceeding to the sanctum sanctorum , where he had darshan of Lord Venkateswara and participated in special rituals . Following the darshan, Vedic scholars blessed him at the Ranganayakula Mandapam , while TTD officials presented teertha prasadam and honoured him with Sesha Vastram . He was also presented with a memento and a portrait of the deity.

As part of his visit, the Vice President paid obeisance at several important sub-shrines within the temple complex, including those dedicated to Vakulamatha , Vimana Venkateswara Swamy , Bhashyakarlu , and Yoga Narasimha Swamy . He later offered prayers at the Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy Temple, located opposite the main temple, completing a comprehensive spiritual circuit.

Extending his pilgrimage, Radhakrishnan also visited the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple at Tiruchanoor, a significant temple associated with the Tirumala pilgrimage.

Speaking to the media after the visit, the Vice President described the experience as deeply fulfilling , noting that offering prayers at this world-renowned spiritual destination brought him peace and spiritual satisfaction . He expressed hope that the blessings of Lord Venkateswara would guide the nation towards continued growth, harmony, and prosperity .

The visit forms part of his broader Andhra Pradesh tour , underscoring Tirumala’s enduring significance as one of the most visited pilgrimage centres in the world.
