Vote AAP in Goa, E20 Petrol Will Be Withdrawn in Five Days: Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to voters in Goa to support his party in the 2027 Assembly elections, claiming that a vote against the BJP could lead to the withdrawal of E20 petrol across the country within five days of the results.

In a video message, Kejriwal said that if the people of Goa voted for the AAP and defeated the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would withdraw the 20 per cent ethanol-blended petrol within days of the election results.

“If people of Goa do not vote for BJP in this Assembly election, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi will withdraw the E20 petrol within five days,” Kejriwal said.

He further alleged that the Prime Minister had become “arrogant” and was continuing to impose policies despite opposition from the public. Kejriwal urged Goans to use their vote to send a political message that could, according to him, influence the Centre’s policy on ethanol blending.

“I appeal to the people of Goa to vote for AAP, defeat BJP, and if results are declared on March 10, then by March 15 Modi will withdraw E20 petrol from the entire country,” he said.

The AAP has consistently opposed the increased use of ethanol blending in petrol, raising concerns over its impact on vehicle performance, fuel efficiency and consumers. The party has sought greater public discussion on the government’s ethanol-blending programme.

Kejriwal’s latest remarks came after the AAP organised an ‘E20 Townhall’ in Goa, where he had made a similar appeal to voters. The party has been using the issue to target the BJP-led government ahead of the state’s 2027 Assembly polls.

The comments are expected to add a new dimension to the political contest in Goa, with the AAP seeking to make E20 petrol a key electoral issue while challenging the BJP’s policies at the Centre.
