Volunteer service model Like Tirumala’s to be introduced in all temples: CM

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to introduce a volunteer service system in all temples across the state, similar to the well-known Srivari Sevakulu model followed at the Tirumala temple, with the aim of improving services for devotees.

Chairing a high-level review meeting through Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) on Monday, the Chief Minister assessed the performance of key departments including Revenue, Agriculture, Civil Supplies, Health, and Endowments. He noted that many devotees are willing to offer voluntary service in temples and instructed officials to identify such individuals and engage them as local volunteers. He pointed out that a similar system is already being successfully implemented at Srisailam and asked the Endowments Department to prepare a statewide database of volunteers to support temple activities.

Reviewing the Health Department, the Chief Minister stressed the need for better facilities and a compassionate approach towards patients, from primary health centres to district hospitals. He directed that hospital premises must be kept clean at all times and that doctors should be readily available to patients. District Collectors were advised to go beyond routine administration and continuously monitor the functioning of government offices that are frequently visited by the public.

In the Revenue Department, the Chief Minister asked officials to work sincerely to eliminate its negative public image. He cautioned that there should be no errors in land surveys and that all related processes must be handled with utmost accuracy and transparency.

The Chief Minister also emphasised coordination between the Agriculture and Health departments. He said public health depends on the production of safe and nutritious food and suggested conducting soil tests to educate farmers about soil nutrients. He encouraged training farmers to grow quality crops with reduced use of fertilisers. Senior officials were instructed to ensure close coordination between Rythu Seva Kendras and primary health centres at the field level.

Addressing the issue of paddy procurement, the Chief Minister directed the Civil Supplies Department to ensure that farmers do not face any difficulties. He warned that strict action would be taken against rice millers who act in a manner that brings a bad name to the government.

He also called for modern reforms in the Transport Department, including the establishment of automated driving test centres across the state. The Chief Minister appreciated the performance of the Fire Services Department.

Senior officials from various departments attended the review meeting and presented progress reports.
