Vizag gears up to host CII partnership summit on November 14–15

Preparations have been intensified in Visakhapatnam for the CII Partnership Summit 2025, which is scheduled to be held on November 14 and 15 at the Andhra University Grounds. The event is being organized jointly by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and is expected to draw delegates, diplomats, and business leaders from across India and abroad.

City Mayor Pila Srinivasa Rao inspected the ongoing works at the summit venue on Saturday and directed officials to ensure completion of all essential facilities for the arriving guests. The Mayor reviewed ground-leveling activities, VIP parking areas, internal road development, and beautification works being carried out by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC). He emphasized that all arrangements must be finalized before the commencement of the event, as nearly 3,000 delegates and dignitaries are expected to participate.

The Mayor instructed Deputy Director of Horticulture Damodar Rao to complete landscaping and plantation works attractively in and around the venue. GVMC Engineering officials were told to maintain a constant supply of clean drinking water and to ensure uninterrupted services during the two-day event.

According to official sources, the Andhra Pradesh government expects to sign around 410 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during the summit. These MoUs, which are being negotiated with both domestic and international firms, are projected to attract investments worth approximately ₹15–18 lakh crore. The proposed investments are estimated to generate nearly 2.8 lakh direct and indirect jobs across multiple sectors, including IT, electronics, manufacturing, renewable energy, infrastructure, and MSME industries, if fully implemented.

Several global corporations are anticipated to participate in the summit. Executives of LG Chem, ShoeallS, and SK Hynix from South Korea were recently met by Andhra Pradesh ministers in Seoul as part of the government’s international outreach. Technology giant Google is establishing two hyperscale data centers in Andhra Pradesh, one of which is located in Visakhapatnam, while Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has started work on a data center project in the city.

International firms such as ArcelorMittal, Octopus Energy, Hinduja Group, Rolls Royce, SRAM and MRAM, and Samko Holdings Limited were engaged by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during his London investment tour earlier this year. These companies have been invited to the summit to explore new opportunities in energy, technology, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Officials have said that this year’s summit will focus on strengthening global partnerships, promoting industrial diversification, and positioning Andhra Pradesh as a major investment hub in India’s economic landscape. Special emphasis is being placed on emerging sectors such as semiconductors, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence-driven technology, in line with the government’s long-term development strategy.

The summit is also being viewed from multiple perspectives:

• Economic Perspective: Large-scale investments are expected to stimulate regional growth, industrial employment, and export potential.

• Industrial and Technological Perspective: The participation of leading global companies highlights Andhra Pradesh’s shift toward advanced manufacturing and technology-driven industries.

• Diplomatic Perspective: Engagements with business leaders from South Korea, the United Kingdom, and Europe are expected to strengthen global investment partnerships.

• Regional Perspective: Hosting the summit in Visakhapatnam is aimed at promoting the city as the economic capital of Andhra Pradesh, improving its infrastructure and global visibility.

• Administrative Perspective: The coordination between civic and industrial departments reflects the government’s focus on efficient execution and transparent governance.

The CII Partnership Summit has earlier been hosted in Visakhapatnam in 2016 and 2023, both of which resulted in major investment commitments for Andhra Pradesh. The 2025 edition will mark the third time the city has hosted the international event, which continues to serve as a platform for attracting global investors and showcasing the state’s industrial strengths.

City authorities have confirmed that all infrastructure and beautification works at the Andhra University Grounds are being completed on priority. With participation expected from more than 40 countries, the CII Partnership Summit 2025 is being viewed as a key milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s pursuit of sustainable industrial growth and global collaboration.
