Vizag has attracted yet another international prestigious organization. Minister for Education and IT, Nara Lokesh, laid the foundation for the city’s first AI Edge Data Center and Open Cable Landing Station, marking a significant step towards India’s artificial intelligence empowerment.
The foundation ceremony was held at Hill Number 3 in Madhurawada IT Park, Bhimli constituency, where CIFI Infinite Spaces Limited is set to establish a 50-megawatt AI-driven Edge Data Center along with the Open Cable Landing Station. Upon arrival at Madhurawada IT Park, Minister Nara Lokesh received a grand welcome from the organization’s officials, accompanied by traditional musical performances.
Following the ceremonial rituals, the minister unveiled the plaques for both the AI Edge Data Center and the Open Cable Landing Station in Rushikonda. The establishment of this AI-driven data center is expected to transform Vizag into India’s next global digital gateway, strengthening both submarine cable connectivity and AI infrastructure.
CIFI Infinite Spaces Limited is a subsidiary of CIFI Technologies, a leading digital ICT solutions provider registered at NASDAQ. The AI Edge Data Center will be developed in two phases on 3.6 acres of land allocated by the government, with a total investment of ₹1,500 crore, creating over a thousand job opportunities. The new cable landing station facility will further enhance submarine cable connectivity in the region.
