Viral drift video prompts FIR, luxury car seized in Bengaluru

Bengaluru traffic police have impounded a luxury sports car following the viral circulation of a video showing the vehicle performing high-speed drifts and stunts, officials confirmed on Sunday.

The video, widely shared on social media , captured the car maneuvering dangerously around Anil Kumble Circle between 2 am and 3 am, with some occupants even standing through the sunroof , reportedly endangering public safety .

Authorities traced the vehicle to the residence of Ricky Rai , son of the late underworld figure Muthappa Rai , and have issued a notice summoning him for questioning . However, police have not yet confirmed whether Rai was behind the wheel during the stunt, or who the actual driver is. Investigations and verifications are ongoing.

A senior police officer stated, "An FIR has been registered under sections related to rash and negligent driving and endangering human life. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend all individuals involved."

The incident has sparked concern among citizens about reckless driving in the city, prompting authorities to take swift action .
