Vijay’s father Chandrasekhar urges Congress to form alliance with TVK ahead of TN polls

Actor-politician S. A. Chandrasekhar , father of Tamil superstar Vijay , has appealed to the Congress to forge an electoral alliance with his son’s party, Tamil Vazhkkai Katchi (TVK) , ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters after attending a marriage function in Tiruvarur on Wednesday, Chandrasekhar said that TVK was considering extending support to Congress. He emphasized that the party has a rich history and legacy in the state and suggested that Vijay was willing to lend his support to help Congress regain its former prominence.

“Congress has a history and a legacy… Vijay is ready to give them support and get them back to their old glory. It is up to Congress to take this opportunity,” Chandrasekhar remarked.

Political analysts note that alliances ahead of the elections are being closely watched, and any partnership between TVK and Congress could reshape the dynamics in several constituencies across Tamil Nadu.
