Vijayanand takes charge as the Ex-Officio Special CS to the AP Chief Minister

Senior IAS officer K. Vijayanand on Monday assumed charge as the Ex-Officio Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister , shortly after retiring as the State’s Chief Secretary on January 28.

In recognition of his extensive administrative experience, the State Government appointed him to the strategically important position in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) . The decision is viewed as a move to strengthen governance by utilising his expertise in policy implementation and administrative coordination.

Vijayanand took charge at his new chamber in the First Block of the State Secretariat. The occasion was marked by traditional rituals, with Vedic scholars from the Vijayawada Kanaka Durga Temple and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) conducting special prayers and chanting hymns. Following the rituals, he formally signed official documents, marking the commencement of his new assignment. The priests later offered him theertha prasadam and conveyed their blessings.

Several senior officials from the Secretariat called on Vijayanand to greet him after he assumed office. Departmental secretaries and representatives of employees’ associations felicitated him and extended their best wishes.

With his appointment to the crucial ex-officio role in the CMO, Vijayanand is expected to play a pivotal part in expediting key government initiatives and ensuring the effective implementation of priority development programmes across the State.
