Vijay Government Completes 100 Days, Speaker Hails ‘Transparent, Corruption-Free’ Governance
Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker J C D Prabhakar on Monday hailed Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay’s completion of 100 days in office, describing the milestone as a significant turning point in the state’s political and administrative history.
Addressing the Assembly, Prabhakar praised the TVK government for pursuing what he described as transparent and corruption-free governance, while highlighting several initiatives aimed at improving social welfare and strengthening opportunities for people across the state.
The Speaker said the government’s first 100 days had witnessed a series of measures focusing on women’s safety, social welfare, youth skill development and employment generation. He said the initiatives demonstrated the administration’s commitment to building a government that remained responsive to the needs of the people.
Among the measures highlighted by Prabhakar were the provision of 200 units of free electricity, the waiver of cooperative farm loans and plans to construct quality homes for economically weaker sections. He also pointed to programmes aimed at enhancing the skills of young people and creating greater employment opportunities within Tamil Nadu.
Prabhakar described these measures as evidence that the present TVK regime is a “people’s government”, saying the administration had sought to place public welfare at the centre of its governance agenda.
He further said the completion of 100 days had established a strong foundation for Tamil Nadu’s future development, with the government seeking to transform the state into a more prosperous and stronger region.
According to the Speaker, the administration’s emphasis on accountability, welfare and development would help shape the state’s future trajectory. He expressed confidence that the initiatives undertaken during the initial 100 days would contribute to fulfilling the government’s broader vision for Tamil Nadu.
The remarks came as the Vijay-led government marked its first major administrative milestone, with the Speaker positioning the period as the beginning of a new phase in Tamil Nadu’s governance.
