Vijay Deverakonda's ‘Ranabaali’ May Skip September, Eyes Dasara or Diwali Release
Vijay Deverakonda's Ranabaali could be heading for a major release date change, with the makers reportedly considering a festive launch instead of its previously announced September release. The much-awaited period action drama, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, has already generated strong buzz thanks to its intriguing pre-Independence backdrop and leaked visuals from the shooting sets.
The film was earlier slated to hit theatres worldwide on September 11, but industry reports suggest the release may now be postponed to allow additional time for post-production work and other pending formalities. The team is said to be keen on releasing the film during a major festival period to maximize its reach and box office potential.
According to reports, the producers are weighing Dasara and Diwali as the two possible release windows. If Chiranjeevi's Vishwambhara does not arrive during the Dussehra season, Ranabaali could take the October 16 slot. Another option under consideration is a November 6 Diwali release, which is expected to provide a strong festive advantage across domestic and overseas markets.
An official announcement on the revised release date is expected in the coming weeks.
Ranabaali marks the reunion of Vijay Deverakonda and Rahul Sankrityan after the commercial success of Taxiwala, a film that earned appreciation for its unique blend of supernatural thrills and entertainment. Their latest collaboration has raised expectations among fans and trade circles alike.
Adding to the excitement, Rashmika Mandanna reunites with Vijay Deverakonda on screen for the first time since their marriage. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, best known for The Mummy, plays the film's primary antagonist, while celebrated music composers Ajay-Atul are handling the soundtrack and background score.
Backed by Mythri Movie Makers in association with T-Series, the big-budget entertainer promises lavish production values and is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Telugu releases of the year.
