Vice President Radhakrishnan Makes First Visit to Tirumala as Vice President

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan made his first visit to Tirumala as Vice President, offering prayers to Lord Venkateswara at the hill shrine. He was accompanied by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The dignitary was received with traditional honours. TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and Executive Officer Anil Kumar presented him with temple prasadam.

Later in the day, Radhakrishnan inaugurated the newly constructed Pilgrims Amenities Complex-5 (PAC-5), which aims to enhance facilities and accommodation for devotees visiting Tirumala. The complex represents a continuing effort by TTD to upgrade infrastructure and services for pilgrims.

Ministers Nara Lokesh and Anam, several MLAs, and members of the TTD Board took part in the event, reflecting strong institutional support for temple and pilgrim welfare initiatives.

Before becoming Vice President, Radhakrishnan served as the Governor of Telangana, a position that connected him closely with the Telugu-speaking region and lent added relevance to his visit to Tirumala.

In earlier assignments, he also held gubernatorial responsibilities in Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Puducherry. A seasoned politician, he has been twice elected to Parliament from Coimbatore and maintained a longstanding role in the BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit.

This Tirumala visit, being his first outside Delhi after taking office on 12 September 2025, signals his early commitment to engage with India’s spiritual and cultural institutions.
