Vemareddy Denies Helipad Land Grab Allegations
Mangalagiri constituency coordinator Donthireddy Vemareddy on Saturday strongly denied Chief Minister’s claims that farmers’ lands were being forcibly acquired for a helipad in Tadepalli under the YSRCP government , calling them “completely false.” Speaking at a media briefing at the Tadepalli party office, Vemareddy accused the ruling party of indulging in political mudslinging to distract from its failure to fulfill public promises.
Railway Land Misrepresented as Farmer Land
Vemareddy clarified that the helipad site has been under railway control for decades, with no record of any farming activity. The land had previously been leased to the fertilizer company EID Parry , and even after the company shut down, it remained listed as railway property. “There has never been any agricultural activity here,” he said. Official records show that in 2015, under the Telugu Desam government, 10.04 acres in survey number 223/226/C2 (RC Number 22/7) came under the collector’s jurisdiction. Claiming that this land was taken from farmers now is “misleading and shameful,” he added.
Fully Compliant Construction
Vemareddy emphasized that the helipad was constructed strictly according to Aviation Corporation regulations to meet the Chief Minister’s security travel requirements . He said all necessary approvals were obtained before construction and no farmer was harmed. Urging political parties to move beyond divisive politics, he called on the government to focus on fulfilling its promises instead of engaging in political theatrics.
