Vellampalli Demands Action Against Chandrababu in Tirumala Laddu Controversy
Former minister Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao on Tuesday strongly criticised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu , Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan , and Minister Nara Lokesh , accusing them of hurting the sentiments of devotees by making false allegations regarding the Tirumala Laddu prasadam . He lodged a complaint in this regard at the Vijayawada Two Town Police Station .
Speaking to the media later, Vellampalli said that despite the SIT report clearly stating that no animal fat was used , the ruling leaders continued to make irresponsible statements for political gain, thereby maligning a sacred prasadam. He termed such comments “highly condemnable.”
He alleged that earlier claims about the mixing of animal fat and fish oil in the Tirumala Laddu were nothing but a political conspiracy . Even after official reports brought out the truth, false propaganda was still being spread, confusing devotees, he said, adding that this reflected the leaders’ lack of devotion towards Lord Venkateswara . Vellampalli further alleged that after coming to power, the coalition government was following outdated practices and eroding public trust. He also condemned the filing of false cases against those who questioned the government, calling it undemocratic.
Law and order failure, politics of vendetta
Vellampalli also came down heavily on the state’s law and order situation . He alleged that despite petrol bomb attacks on the residence of former minister Jogi Ramesh , the government failed to book cases of attempted murder and instead facilitated easy bail for the accused. He found it ironic that security was being increased at the houses of TDP leaders allegedly involved in attacks , while failing to protect the homes of YSRCP leaders .
He further alleged that while the administration ignored corruption allegations against MP Kesineni Chinni in Delhi, it was acting harshly against opposition leaders.
Demanding immediate legal action against Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and Nara Lokesh for allegedly spreading false propaganda on the Tirumala Laddu, Vellampalli urged the police not to spare those who incite unrest in society. Several party leaders and workers were present during the programme.
