Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon Bring Horror Hit 'Obsession' to Hindi Audiences

Bollywood actors Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon have teamed up to lend their voices to the lead characters in the Hindi-dubbed version of the horror film 'Obsession', bringing its unsettling mix of romance and psychological horror to Hindi-speaking audiences.

The film follows Bear, a music store worker who develops feelings for his colleague Nikki. Hoping to make her fall in love with him, he uses a mysterious toy called the ‘One Wish Willow’ to fulfil his desire. However, his wish takes a frightening turn as Nikki becomes increasingly obsessed with him, setting off a chain of unexpected and disturbing events.

Kriti, who has voiced another actor’s performance for the first time, described the experience as an exciting new challenge. She said she loved the film and its performances, calling the story gripping, quirky and twisted. The actress added that exploring such an edgy character made the dubbing experience particularly interesting. She also expressed excitement about introducing the film to Hindi-speaking viewers.

Varun said working on the Hindi version allowed him to experience the story from a different perspective. The dubbing process helped him notice several details he had missed during his first viewing. He said this closer engagement with the film made the experience more enjoyable and expressed hope that audiences would discover those details when watching the Hindi version.

To promote the release, streaming platform JioHotstar shared an Instagram promotional video featuring Varun and Kriti recreating a memorable car scene from the film. The video offered audiences a glimpse of the actors’ collaboration and generated interest in the Hindi-dubbed version.

'Obsession' was released in Indian theatres on May 29, 2026. Combining horror and romance, the film explores how the desire for love can become dangerous when it develops into an unhealthy fixation.

The film is scheduled to begin streaming in English and Hindi on the Peacock Hub on JioHotstar from October 30, 2026, giving viewers an opportunity to experience the horror story in their preferred language.
