Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) has announced an on-spot offline counselling round for admission to the B.Ed. programme to fill remaining vacant seats under the HP quota. The counselling will be held on October 8 and 9 from 11:00 a.m. onwards at the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), HPU, Summer Hill, Shimla.

According to the Coordinator of the Central Committee for B.Ed. Admission, the counselling will cover vacancies in the Department of Education, HPU, Government College of Teacher Education, Dharamshala, Kangra, and self-financed B.Ed. colleges affiliated with the university for the 2025–2027 session.

Eligible candidates—those securing a minimum of 53 marks in the B.Ed. Entrance Test for unreserved categories and 45 marks for reserved categories—can apply for the on-spot counselling from October 4 to 7 (midnight) through HPU’s admission portal. Applications may also be considered during the counselling days, subject to seat availability.

In another development, the Himachal Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s direction, will hold a special overseas recruitment drive on October 9 at Government Polytechnic, Hamirpur. The initiative, organised by the Himachal Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (HPSEDC) in collaboration with the Labour & Employment and Technical Education departments, aims to provide international employment opportunities to state youth in technical and non-technical sectors.

Recruitment will be facilitated through a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA)-registered agency to ensure transparency. Detailed information regarding eligibility, registration, and required documents will soon be available at employment offices, social media handles, and the HPSEDC websit e.
