Uttarakhand CM Dhami hands 1,456 appointment letters to youths

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday distributed 1,456 appointment letters to candidates at Doon Medical College, Patel Nagar, Dehradun. The appointments include 109 Review Officers (ROs) and Assistant Review Officers (AROs) selected through the Public Service Commission (PSC) and 1,347 Assistant Teachers (L.T.) chosen via the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC).

Congratulating the appointees, the Chief Minister said, "This moment marks a significant milestone in your professional lives and lays the foundation for a bright future for the state. I urge you to perform your duties with dedication, transparency, and commitment, and set new benchmarks of excellence in your respective roles."

CM Dhami highlighted the importance of the administrative system, stating, "The administrative system is the most crucial pillar of governance in any state. The Secretariat can be described as the brain of governance, where policies are formulated, decisions are made, and development projects are planned for implementation." He added, "Review Officers play a vital role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of this system."

On education, the Chief Minister emphasised, "When a child receives quality education, it not only improves their life but also enables them to contribute meaningfully to society and the nation. Teachers have a responsibility to impart knowledge while instilling a sense of social responsibility in children, preparing them to be good citizens."

He further stated, "Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is continuously working to modernise the education system. From improving school infrastructure to digitalisation, comprehensive reforms are being carried out at every level. Significant steps have been taken to make the recruitment process transparent and merit-based."

The Chief Minister referred to a recent exam controversy, noting, "A cheating incident at an exam centre in Haridwar was addressed immediately. The accused were arrested, a Special Investigation Team was formed, and a CBI inquiry has been recommended. The exam was cancelled, and I personally visited the protest site to assure the youth that all legitimate demands would be met."

Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat stated, "Recruitment in the Education Department will continue, with upcoming appointments for Block Resource Persons (BRPs), Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs), primary teachers, and Class IV positions. All newly appointed teachers will be posted in remote areas and are required to serve there for a mandatory period."

The Chief Minister also noted the scale of recent appointments, stating, "In the last four years, more than 26,000 youths have been appointed to government jobs, more than double the total appointments made by previous governments since the formation of the state. Today, young people are securing government jobs through a transparent and merit-based system."

Regarding the viability of government jobs in the current employment landscape, the state has emphasized that such appointments provide stability, benefits, and career security in a market where private-sector jobs are limited. This approach reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening governance, promoting quality education, and addressing youth unemployment in Uttarakhand.

The appointments distributed on October 14 mark a significant step in both the modernisation of state administration and the promotion of equitable educational opportunities across the state.
