UPSC Declares Final Results of Engineering Services Exam 2025

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday announced the final results of the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2025, recommending a total of 458 candidates for appointment to various engineering services under the Central government.

The selection is based on the written examination conducted in August and the personality test held between October and November, the UPSC stated. Among the recommended candidates, 202 are from civil engineering, 116 from electronics and telecommunication, 79 from electrical, and 61 from mechanical engineering streams.

The results also include 26 candidates belonging to the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category . The government had earlier announced 554 vacancies through the ESE 2025: 251 in civil engineering, 134 in electronics and telecommunication, 97 in electrical, and 72 in mechanical, including posts reserved for PwBD candidates.

The UPSC clarified that the candidature of 102 recommended candidates is provisional, pending verification of eligibility conditions. In addition, a consolidated reserve list of 186 candidates across all four disciplines has been maintained, which may be operated if required under the Engineering Services Examination Rules, 2025.

Successful candidates will be appointed to key technical services such as the Indian Railways Service of Engineers, Indian Defence Service of Engineers, Central Water Engineering Service, Central Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Service, and Border Roads Engineering Service.
