Uppal MLA Seeks Widening of Nuclear Fuel Complex Railway Overbridge

Considering the growing need to widen the NFC (Nuclear Fuel Complex) Railway Overbridge in the Uppal constituency, Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy , along with local corporator Devender Reddy , paid a courtesy visit to Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender at his residence in Shamirpet. On the occasion, they submitted a formal representation requesting approval for the expansion and widening of the bridge.

Speaking on the matter, MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy stated that the NFC Railway Overbridge was constructed nearly 45 years ago based on the requirements of that time. However, he pointed out that the region has witnessed a significant rise in population and rapid expansion of new residential colonies in recent years, resulting in a sharp increase in traffic burden on the bridge.

He explained that the bridge serves as a major route connecting Habsiguda to ECIL , and also Boduppal to ECIL , making it a key passage for thousands of commuters every day. Due to its limited width, the overbridge frequently experiences severe traffic congestion, causing considerable hardship to local residents.

The MLA further expressed concern that the daily lives of people are being heavily affected, particularly school-going students and workers employed in small industries , who are forced to struggle through long traffic jams on a regular basis.

In this context, MLA Lakshma Reddy stressed the urgent need for immediate action to widen the NFC Railway Overbridge. He also mentioned that he has learned that funds have already been released for this project under a special railway development plan . Therefore, he urged the MP to coordinate with the concerned departments and grant the necessary permissions to take up the bridge expansion work without delay. Local leaders, party workers, and others participated in the programme.
