A man allegedly fleeing with his minor sister-in-law rammed his car into relatives chasing him on motorcycles, leaving three people dead and four others seriously injured near Korwa village on the Banda–Kanpur road , police said on Monday.

The incident took place late Sunday night after a family dispute escalated into a high-speed chase . According to police, the accused, identified as Deepak Soni , had allegedly fled with the minor girl following an altercation at home. Family members then began pursuing his car on two motorcycles in an attempt to stop him.

Investigators said the chase continued for some distance before the motorcycles managed to overtake the car and move ahead of it , apparently attempting to block its path. At that point, Soni allegedly drove his vehicle into the motorcycles, triggering a violent collision.

The impact threw the riders off their motorcycles, and three men died on the spot . The deceased were identified as Satyavan Soni (26) and Manoj Soni (18) , both relatives of the accused, along with their friend Annu Sonkar (40) , who was riding another motorcycle.

During the chaos, the speeding car also hit another motorcycle carrying an unrelated family , leaving four people seriously injured. The injured were identified as Surendra Kumar (30) , his sister Mamta Devi (35) , and her children Pallavi (8) and Arpit (10) .

Police said preliminary findings suggest the crash may have been deliberate . “Initial investigation indicates the driver may have intentionally rammed the motorcycles chasing his car,” said Bindki police station SHO Pramod Kumar Rao .

The accused fled the scene and remains absconding , while police teams have launched a search operation to locate and arrest him. Further investigation into the circumstances of the dispute and the events leading to the fatal collision is underway.
