
UP Issues Recruitment Notice for 41,424 Home Guard Vacancies
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) has issued a notification for the recruitment of 41,424 Home Guard Volunteers across districts in the state. The online application process has been made active from 18 November 2025 and will remain open until 17 December 2025 on the official website uppbpb.gov.in .
According to the notification, candidates who have passed Class 10 from a recognised board are considered eligible to apply. Those who are appearing for the Class 10 examination have also been allowed to submit applications but must ensure that they obtain the qualification before the document verification stage . Only Indian citizens are permitted to participate in the recruitment.
The age of applicants is required to be between 18 and 30 years as on 1 July 2025 , while relaxation in the upper age limit has been provided to reserved categories in accordance with Uttar Pradesh government rules. Physical standards, medical fitness conditions and other service requirements have been specified in the official notification.
A district-wise allocation of vacancies has been published, with major numbers reported from districts such as Kushinagar (1,947 posts) , Mau (1,371) , Meerut (1,072) , Agra (1,232) , Varanasi (1,219) and several others. Vacancies have been made available in almost all districts, including Allahabad, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Pratapgarh, Jaunpur, Jhansi and more, forming a total of 41,424 positions .
Candidates selected as Home Guard Volunteers will receive a monthly honorarium as per the current structure approved by the state government. Yearly increments and government-notified allowances will also be provided. The exact pay details have been advised to be checked in the notification.
An application fee of ₹100 has been prescribed for General and OBC candidates, while applicants belonging to SC, ST, Women, PwD and Ex-Servicemen categories are required to pay ₹50 . Payments are allowed only through online modes such as debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.
The selection process will include an OMR-based written examination consisting of questions on General Knowledge, General Science, Indian Constitution, History, Current Affairs and state-specific subjects related to Uttar Pradesh. A physical test , document verification , and a final medical examination will follow. Merit will be prepared using the normalization method as per recruitment rules.
Applicants have been asked to complete a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the website, fill the online form accurately, upload their photograph and signature in the required format, pay the application fee, and finally submit the application. A printout of the confirmation page has been advised for future reference.
The recruitment notification was issued on 17 November 2025 . The last date for both submission of forms and payment of fees has been fixed as 17 December 2025 . The schedule for the written examination and release of admit cards is expected to be announced later by UPPBPB.
